Join Devon Communities Together's free online sessions about health inequalities in Devon

Updated: Feb 2, 2023

This is an invitation to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and community groups in Devon to attend one of three online sessions about health inequalities.

These sessions are an opportunity to enhance your understanding about why the health inequalities agenda is important and how it relates to your organisation/group and the work you do.

Did you know ...?

  • There’s a life expectancy difference of 15+ years between the most affluent communities and our most deprived*

  • In one Devon location, 33.3% children are living in poverty compared to 0.8% in another community*

  • 8.2% people in an inner-city street in Devon have a long-term health condition compared to 0.8% in a rural location*

Tackling health inequalities is a priority in many of Devon's health and social care strategies and will be a theme in future funding opportunities.

You are invited to attend one of three online sessions:

  • Feb 25th 10:00am-1:00pm

  • March 8th 2:00pm-5:00pm

  • March 16th 10:00am-1:00pm (small organisations only - less than £100k turnover)

To find out more about the objectives of the sessions please use the link below. If you have any queries or special requirements for the sessions, please contact us 01392 248919 info@devoncommunities.org.uk. * Source: Healthy and Happy Communities - DEVON’S JOINT HEALTH AND WELLBEING STRATEGY, 2020-25
