Community Working Group enjoy Respect Festival 2023

Team up with the Community Trust
On the 10th and 11th June, the Exeter City Supporters Trust Community Working Group teamed up with Exeter City Community Trust to represent ECFC at this year's Respect Festival at Belmont Park.

Celebrating its 26-year anniversary, the Respect Festival continues to bring communities together to celebrate their differences and commonalities.

Over the course of the weekend, 100s of children and young people participated in target shot practice and penalty shootouts, with more than 2,500 shots on goal across both Saturday and Sunday.

Members of the community were also able to speak to the team about our club, its history and the ownership model.

The team, which included Doug Gillard, Will Barrett, David Gribble, Harry Moreton, Daniel Ridgeway, Steve Chown, Pete Ferlie, and Pete and Kate Cordwell were pleased to speak to a whole host of people, including the family of former promotion-winning full-back Cecil Smyth, Members of the Exeter United team, and the chair of Respect, Dr. Suaad Genem-George.

We were also delighted to sign up at least four new members of the Trust - with several further expressions of interest - and also introduced dozens of parents and children to the many community programmes and football activities on offer each and every week of the year.

Most of all, it was great to be part of such a positive, vibrant and successful event in our city and we hope to return next year for more of the same.
