Thank you for your continued membership of the Exeter City AFC Supporters Society Ltd (the Trust), which has ensured we remain at the forefront of supporter owned football clubs and continue to provide a sustainable model of ownership.
It has previously been announced that this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday 21st November at 11.00am, prior to the home game v Oldham Athletic.
Given the recent suspension by the government of sport test events and the return of fans to stadiums it is likely there will be no ability for fans to attend the match on the day of the AGM.
The government has also recently extended measures from the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act to relieve pressure on businesses dealing with coronavirus which removes the requirement for an in person AGM.
Therefore the trust board voted at the October trust board meeting to hold the 2020 Exeter City AFC Supporters Society Ltd AGM virtually. The trust board intend to use a similar format to that adopted for the two recent fan forums.
Given the potential problems in verifying membership status with a virtual AGM and the limited facility for debate the trust board wishes to manage the AGM with a reduced agenda which complies with our legal requirements.
This would mean the agenda will be limited to:
1. Approval of Minutes of 2019 AGM.
2. Matters arising from the 2019 AGM.
3. Approval of the 2019/20 Exeter City AFC Supporters Society Ltd Accounts.
4. Appointment of Exeter City AFC Supporters Society Ltd Auditors.
5. Declaration of Results for Election to the Trust Board.
6. Presentation by the Exeter City AFC Finance Director (Keith Mason).
7. Presentation by the Exeter City AFC Club Chair (Richard Pym).
8. Presentation by the Exeter City AFC Club President (Julian Tagg)
9. Presentation by the Exeter City AFC Supporters Society Trust Chair (Nick Hawker).
10. Questions to Presenters.
11. Any Other Business.
The trust board would ask that members refrain from submitting any resolutions to the 2020 AGM and either hold them over to 2021 or contact the trust board via the Trust Secretary, Phil Burden using enquiries@weownexetercityfc.co.uk.
The trust board will not be submitting any resolutions in 2020.
This is the first time the trust board has arranged a virtual AGM and further details will be published nearer to the date on how to access the virtual AGM and how to submit questions.
Documents for approval such as 2019 AGM minutes and 2019/2020 accounts will be published in advance of the meeting on the trust website.
If you have any questions in regard to the AGM please contact the Trust Secretary, Phil Burden via enquiries@weownexetercityfc.co.uk
