Message from the Chairman

I CERTAINLY CAN’T RECALL THE START OF A SEASON SO EAGERLY ANTICIPATED AS THIS ONE!

The past season reminds me of why football is so special, and why it is about so much more than just a game. I really do hope you enjoy the game of course, but I also hope you enjoy reviving your match day routine, meeting you friends, and the feeling that maybe things are returning to normal.

Many Grecians, I am sure, will have mixed feelings about their return to St James Park, for multiple reasons. I hope that by the time you leave you’ll have had a fantastic afternoon because, win, lose or draw, the Grecians have made it home!

Many of you will have received notification in the past week of the Trust Annual General Meeting. This will be held on October 16 at the Phoenix Art Centre, commencing at 11am. I hope to see as many of our members there as possible. In the run up to the AGM we will, of course, have Trustee elections so please, keep a look out for details.

The Trust are, of course, always on the look out for new members so if you’re not already, why not pop into the new Trust office at the entrance of the Park building and find out more. This season we are able to offer 10% discount on purchases from Carpetright (Exeter & Barnstaple stores only), 20% discount from RGB Building Supplies (Exeter branch), and £5 off the price of match-day hospitality, that’s as well as 10% in the club shop and the same off non-match day bar purchases… There’s never been a better time to join!

Today, the Trust welcome Dave Bickham and his guest into the match-day boardroom, winner of the Director for the Day prize draw. We hope you have a wonderful afternoon, Dave!

This afternoon we should take the time to congratulate the achievements of the Exeter City Woman’s squad, who last season were winners of the Devon FA County Cup and runners up in the Supplementary Cup Final.

We should also congratulate the Junior Grecians for being the winners of the inaugural One of Our Own (virtual) Cup, raising just over £2,000 to be shared equally between the Exeter City Community Trust and the Exeter Community Initiatives.

Finally, I’d like to welcome three new Club Board directors to their first competitive match; Jonathan Hart, Jeremy Tipper, and Clive Bawden. It’s really exciting to have new talent on the board and we wish you all a successful time at Exeter City!

Have a great afternoon everybody and… come on you reds!!!
