Tackling Loneliness Together

Lots of us have been feeling a little more isolated since lockdown paused our normal activities and groups and, of course, put a stop to our attendance at Exeter City games.

Our friends over at CITY Community Trust have recently launched a new programme designed to help people make contact with old friends and new, or perhaps take up a new activity whilst so much is still on pause due to the pandemic. The programme has been funded by the EFL Trust and the Government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and you can choose from lots of free activities.

A few activities that might appeal to you are virtual Sports Chats which take place with Pete Ferlie over Zoom, beginner’s IT sessions, and some free activity packs designed for older people. They’ve also got lots of youngsters lined up to write letters to pen pals from older generations and they’re hoping that Supporters’ Trust members will sign up to be ‘Grecian Pen Pals’.

If you’d like to get involved in any of these activities, or you know someone who would benefit from taking part in the programme – they don’t have to be Exeter City fans – then do get in touch with the team at CITY Community Trust.

To arrange a phone call, join a virtual group, or receive a letter from a young Exeter City supporter, then drop an email to jack.watts@ecfc.co.uk or call 07716 279507.
