Exeter City Football Club can confirm that a small area of St James Park sustained damage following an electrical fire last night in the St James Road and Well Street corner of the stadium.

The fire, which is believed to have started due to an electrical fault, spread to a small section of the stand before being swiftly brought under control by the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

Thanks to their quick and professional response, the blaze was fully contained within two hours, preventing more significant damage.

An assessment of the affected area will take place today to determine the full extent of the damage and any necessary repairs.

We would like to reassure all Supporters’ Trust members and fans that the club will continue to share updates as further information becomes available.

The Club and Trust would like to express their sincere thanks to the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service for their rapid and effective action, and to everyone involved for their support and cooperation.
