Election Candidates 2025

Debbie Marrable
I’m a 29-year-old happily married woman, wife to Lewis and mum to our four-year-old daughter, Molly.
Football has always been at the centre of my life not only as a supporter, but also as a player and coach.
I follow Exeter City’s women’s team with the same passion as the men’s and I’m proud to support a fan-owned club where every voice matters.
Being a woman in football hasn’t always been easy.
I’ve faced negative experiences, but I’ve never allowed them to silence me.
I’ve raised concerns in the right way, challenged poor behaviour, and encouraged education and engagement.

Gary Quick
Hi, I'm Gary Quick, running as a Trust in Change Candidate. I'm determined to install greater transparency in Trust decisions, finances and relationships with the Club. I bring 40 years of finance, governance and boardroom experience.

I aim to strengthen governance by installing robust procedures and ensuring professionalism. I support modernising membership, improving communication and will advocate for more open Trust Board meetings.

I'll champion ambition by supporting the Club's growth whilst safeguarding its values. I will promote inclusion to ensure the Club reflects its community. I'll advocate for a minimum 75% Trust shareholding and secure key club assets.

Greg Newcombe
I’ve loved Exeter City since I was five—mascot in 1992 and a 50/50 seller by 13. With a strong background in leading high-performing teams, I’m eager to bring my strategic expertise to the club.
Passionate about strengthening the bond between Exeter City and its supporters—especially younger fans—I aim to honour its proud legacy while driving future growth.
Success depends on evolving fan engagement and bolstering financial foundations. While valuing our trust ownership model, I believe exploring alternatives that support long-term success is vital.
I’m committed to blending tradition with innovation to help Exeter thrive.
Matt Phillips
Like many of you, I’ve become increasingly concerned by the recent off-field uncertainty surrounding the Trust and Club. I’m standing for election because I believe that for the Trust to rebuild confidence, a major refresh of the Trust Board is required.
As a Chartered Actuary, I bring expertise in area’s of need for the club, risk management, finance and governance. I would look to draw on my experience to support the development of a new Trust-Club Strategy.
My candidacy is backed by Trust in Change, a fan-led movement championing openness, accountability and ambition.

Matthew Moore
I’ve been a passionate Exeter City supporter for over 30 years, experiencing the highs and lows from the Conference to League One.
Professionally, I run a recruitment company and have extensive experience in talent identification, team management, and building strong business relationships.
I’ve worked with the Trust to establish the Corporate Trust football team and introduce new corporate members, strengthening links between the Club, Trust, and local businesses.
If elected, I will bring practical experience and focus to the Board, supporting senior staff recruitment, safeguarding Trust ownership, and modernising membership to ensure supporters feel informed, valued, and engaged.
Nelson Taylor
Honesty | Belief | Achieve
My name is Nelson Taylor. I’m under 20 and proud to be part of Grecian Generation Z (GGZ). I’ve supported Exeter City since 2014, and this club has given me friendship, confidence, and community.
I want to help the Trust move forward embracing change, teamwork, and greater involvement from younger supporters. If elected, I’ll attend all meetings, promote co-option to bring in new ideas, and ensure the academy stays strong as the heart of our fan-owned club.
As a Big Bank season ticket holder, it would be an honour to serve and represent every supporter.

Nick Bryant
I'm Nick Bryant, a City fan since childhood. I’ve supported City through highs and lows, fundraising for the football club in pre-Trust days and also for the Adam Stansfield Foundation on charity runs.
Professionally, I lead complex public services in local government, managing strategy, budgets, and teams. I want to bring that experience to the Trust. If elected, I’ll push for stronger governance, clearer goals, and open communication.
I’ll champion maximising Trust ownership of the club and transferring the key of the training ground and St James Centre. It’s time to unlock our potential. Trust In Change.
Nigel Edwards
I’m a lifelong Exeter City fan and passionate about bringing positive change to the
Trust.
With years of relevant career experience, I can strengthen governance, rebuild
belief and improve communication and collaboration. I’m committed to making both
the Club and the Trust open, accountable, and genuinely representative of fans’
interests.
My priorities include modernising the Trust’s ways of working, bolstering the Trust’s
influence on the Club Board, and transferring the training ground freehold and the St
James Centre to the Trust.
Let’s restore our confidence and build a stronger Exeter City – together. Trust in
change!

Nikitas Vellis
Football has been my lifelong language of community. As Vice-President of Panionios G.S.S. Athens (PGSS) one of Europe’s oldest fan-controlled clubs I have seen how supporter ownership protects identity, empowers fans, and builds resilience even through crisis. Those lessons are exactly why I wish to serve the Exeter City Supporters’ Trust.
I have rebuilt departments, balanced budgets, and strengthened governance during challenging periods. My role has required honest decision-making, transparent communication, and the ability to unite volunteers, players, and supporters around one goal: the club before everything. That principle lies at the heart of Exeter City FC and of my candidacy.
Peter Loader
I’ve been a Grecian for over 40 years and am proud to support a fan-owned club.
I believe I can help the Trust through its current challenges, most importantly reconnecting the Trust Board with its members and with the Club Board as responsible owners.

Longer term, I’d like to support the Trust to become a role model for football club ownership whilst enabling current and future managers to bring success on the pitch.
As a recently retired CEO of a management consultancy, I would bring much-needed skills, energy and time to achieving these goals.

Quinn Elliott
“Actions Speak Louder Than Words”
Everything I do is for Exeter City and the Supporters Trust nothing more, nothing less.
From helping with flags and stadium clean-ups to raising over £5,000 during Covid.
I’ve always shown my commitment through action.
Over the years, I’ve attended Trust meetings, met with Cllr’s, FA, FSA, and EFL, and represented the club on ITV, radio.
As part of GGZ and the ECFC College Development Programme, I believe youth voices matter.
I’ll keep working hard and speaking honestly always for the good of Exeter City.

My involvement of over 40 years with Exeter City started in 1983 as an apprentice groundsman and later took on various matchday roles.
I have served as a former Trustee, Chairman of the Supporters Trust, and as a Club Board Director.
I co-ordinated major fundraising initiatives, including the Pitch in for City Campaign raising £125,000. My business acumen includes establishing and running an award-winning company for ten years.
I am committed to good governance and believe it vital to attain 75% share ownership, and to ensure the Trust hold ownership of the Training Ground and St. James Centre.
