Exeter City Women's Manfy Sharpe spoke to the press ahead of the One Of Our Own Cup.
"It's a huge honour to be recognised as 'One Of Our Own'. For one of first three women that have been recognised, it's a cool thing and it's a huge movement for the club to be recognising women as part of it as well. It's really cool!"
"It's raising money for a charity. Raising money for any charity is a good idea and one that's directly relating to your community - it's a no brainer. Why wouldn't you want to raise money for your own community?"
"CCT [Exeter City Community Trust] directly fund the women's team, which also funds the girls' development centre who bring in players to the women's team. Without them we wouldn't be where we are today and we wouldn't have quality young players coming through. There wouldn't be involvement with girls in the community wanting to play football. Thanks to them there are girls wanting to play football, moving to the girls' development centre, therefore, coming through the women's team. It's not just funding, it's activities they do as well".
