Today, we proudly celebrate a landmark moment in the history of Exeter City Football Club, the 25th anniversary of the Exeter City Supporters’ Trust.

On this day in 2000, a group of passionate Grecians came together to support the club financially and created The Exeter City Supporters' Trust.

Originally formed to assist in the payment of a player’s salary, the Trust played a pivotal role in rescuing the club from financial crisis. In 2003, after a tumultuous period under previous ownership, it was the Trust that stepped up, took control, and placed Exeter City into the hands of the people who care most- its supporters.

The Trust purchased a majority shareholding in 2003 and in 2014 obtained voting parity on the club’s Board of Directors, allowing 3 Trustees and the Trust Chairman to sit on that board.

Since then, over £2 million has been pledged by the Trust towards the club’s running costs, as well as additional funds for specific projects and fundraising appeals. Volunteer efforts are said to be worth around £250,000 annually. Recently, Trust membership reached the 5000 mark, which is an incredible achievement.

Every member of the Trust has a stake in the club’s future. Every decision made is with the long-term interests of Exeter City and its community at heart.

This milestone is more than just a celebration of the past 25 years. It’s a tribute to every Trust member who joined, donated, volunteered, and believed in a different way of doing football. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come, and the incredible things we can still achieve together.

Happy 25th birthday to the Exeter City Supporters’ Trust- thank you for all of your ongoing support.

We own our football club!

There is no better time to become a part of our future. Join the Trust.
